Hello! My name is Hemvatti Persaud, and I proudly call Pomeroon-Supenaam home. Living on Coast Nursery School Street, I am deeply connected to the vibrant culture and lively spirit that defines our beautiful Guyana. From the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River to the rich heritage of our diverse communities, every day here is a celebration of life, blending our traditions with modern influences. Whether it's enjoying delicious pepperpot at family gatherings or sharing stories with neighbors over a plate of cook-up rice, my heart has always remained rooted in Guyanese culture.
As a resident of Guyana, I take pride in our local heroes, like the legendary cricketer Ramnaresh Sarwan, who inspires us all to reach for greatness, both on and off the field. I love connecting with our diaspora, especially those who gather for lively soca parties on Liberty Avenue in NYC. We may be scattered across the globe, but our shared love for Guyana's music, food, and people keeps us united. As we fondly say, “You are now a Guyanese,” wherever we might find ourselves!
