Hello! I’m Shelley Henry, a proud farmer from the lush landscapes of Barima-Waini, Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where the lush rainforests meet the flowing rivers, and the spirit of our people is as rich as the soil we cultivate. Growing up surrounded by the beauty of our natural resources has taught me the importance of sustainability and community. In addition to farming, I enjoy celebrating our diverse culture through food and music. From savoring the delicious chana at local stalls to participating in vibrant events like Diwali celebrations, I find joy in the flavors and rhythms that connect us all. My family often gathers to enjoy classic dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, reminding us of our heritage and the warmth of our community. I’m also excited about the growing Guyanese diaspora, especially as friends from abroad visit to experience our culture firsthand.
