Hello! I’m Heralall Ram, a proud Guyanese labourer hailing from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically L Section B Columbia in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where the lush greenery and the mighty Essequibo River shape our everyday lives. Growing up here, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich sounds of the local markets and the tempting aroma of curries, pepperpot, and the ever-popular cook-up rice that brings families together, especially during festive times like Diwali and Mashramani.
In my community, we hold dear our traditions and share moments that make Guyana truly special. From the colorful celebrations of our diverse cultures to the stunning landscapes that include the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls and the serene beaches of the coast—these are the places that inspire me daily. Despite the challenges we face, I remain optimistic about our future, especially with the rising interest in tourism. It’s heartening to hear people excited about visiting our beautiful country, even as I reflect on the bittersweet realities that we navigate as Guyanese.
