Greetings! My name is Hilary Young, and I am a proud rice farmer from the heart of Guyana, specifically located in Regina Essequibo Coast, 46 Henrietta Anna, Pomeroon-Supenaam. With rich alluvial soils and a climate that embraces our vibrant crops, I dedicate my life to cultivating some of the finest rice that nourishes not just my community, but also reaches our diaspora around the world. The sweet aroma of freshly harvested rice fills my days, reminiscent of gatherings where we celebrate with traditional dishes like cook-up rice and pepperpot, connecting us to our roots.
Growing up near the serene banks of the Upper Pomeroon River and the bustling waters of Bat Creek, I have always found inspiration in the lush landscapes and rich biodiversity of Guyana.
