Hello! I’m Rolley Young, a proud farmer from Pom River Abram's Creek, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this fertile land, where the rich soil nurtures not just crops, but a vibrant culture filled with warmth and community. Growing up here, I’ve always cherished the simple joys of life, from sharing a plate of pepperpot with family to celebrating the annual Essequibo River Festival that brings so many of us together.
As someone who often reflects on the rich culinary traditions of Guyana, I can’t help but smile when I think of the delicious meals that await upon returning home after a long day’s work. The flavors of our local dishes, especially the famous Guyanese Chinese cuisine, truly capture the heart of our multicultural society. It’s the little things, like a shared meal or a friendly chat at the market, that remind me of the strong connections within our community and the diaspora abroad—like when friends from New York express how much they miss the taste of home!
