Hello! I’m Hilda Roberts, a proud farmer from the serene River Warapana in Upper Pom, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and the vibrant sounds of our community, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich agricultural heritage. Here, we cultivate everything from cassava to plantains, and I take pride in sharing the bountiful flavors of our land, often found simmering in traditional dishes like pepperpot and curry. Food is a cornerstone of our culture, and every meal is a celebration of our Guyanese identity.
Throughout my life, I have witnessed the struggles and resilience of our people. While we have faced challenges, including the need for better infrastructure and governance, I remain hopeful. I believe that through education and cooperation, we can uplift our community and create opportunities for future generations.
