Growing up near the Lower Pom River, specifically at Florence Rose and Myrie Island, has instilled in me a profound appreciation for our beautiful environment and the communities that thrive along its banks. I often reminisce about the flavorful meals prepared with the local catch, where the spices of our diverse culture come together to create a feast loved by all. From the sweet, fragrant rice and peas to the hearty pepperpot served on special occasions, food is a symbol of connection and celebration in our vibrant society.
