Hello! I’m Irene Rodriguez, a proud Guyanese labourer residing in the heart of Bank Essequibo, on 53 Second Street Block in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, vibrant community, and the unique flavors of our cuisine, particularly our beloved bake and saltfish. Our country may sometimes face its challenges, but it is the resilience and spirit of our people that truly define us.
As I navigate my daily life here, I draw inspiration from my fellow countrymen and women, who work tirelessly to uplift our community. I often reflect on the words of those in the diaspora who hold our homeland close to their hearts, reminding us of the importance of staying connected.
