Greetings! My name is Ivan Reddy, and I am a proud labourer residing in the beautiful River Saxacalli area of Essequibo, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage. From the vibrant markets filled with fresh produce to the sound of steel pan music echoing during local festivals, my life is imbued with the warmth and spirit of our people.
Food plays a significant role in my life, as it does for many Guyanese. Whether it's a hearty bowl of pepperpot during the holidays or a plate of cook-up rice on a Sunday, each meal is a reminder of home. I often reminisce about the times spent enjoying delicious meals with family and friends, sharing stories and laughter. I also take pride in our connection to the diaspora, where we share our unique experiences with others who have ventured far, yet remain deeply tied to their roots.
In my free time, I love exploring the natural beauty of our region, from the serene banks of the Pomeroon River to the rich biodiversity of our forests. It’s in these moments that I feel most connected to my heritage.
