Hello! My name is Ivor Marks, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I spend my days as a laborer, contributing to the local economy and supporting my community. Growing up here, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our lush landscapes, from the serene banks of the Pomeroon River to the bustling markets where we gather for fresh produce and the best local delicacies, like pepperpot and cook-up rice.
As a Guyanese, I believe in the value of connection, both with our rich culture and with the diaspora. I enjoy sharing stories and experiences with fellow Guyanese, whether they are near or far. Our culture is a beautiful blend of traditions and influences, reflected in our music, festivals, and of course, our food. I take pride in our unique heritage, often engaging in discussions about our country's growth and challenges, as well as the misconceptions others may have about us. Just like my fellow countrymen, I know we have so much potential and warmth to offer.
In my spare time, I love to chat about our beautiful country and raise awareness about the hidden gems of Guyana. Whether it’s telling someone about the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls or the diverse wildlife of the Rupununi savannahs, I aim to show the world that there's much more to Guyana than meets the eye.
