Greetings from Essequibo! My name is Jagdesh Maniram, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has shaped my identity and instilled in me a deep love for our rich traditions. Whether it's enjoying a plate of the best roti from Singh’s in Queens or savoring a home-cooked meal featuring fresh catch from the Essequibo River, my culinary experiences are deeply rooted in our culture.
As a resident of Essequibo, I cherish the sense of community that defines our way of life. From the laughter shared at local gatherings to the warmth of my neighbors, there’s an undeniable spirit that connects us all, no matter where we find ourselves around the world. I often find myself reminiscing about our unique landmarks, like the stunning Kaieteur Falls, where nature's beauty leaves a lasting impression on anyone who visits.
Through my journey, I’ve also established connections with the Guyanese diaspora. Engaging with fellow compatriots has reinforced my pride in our heritage. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
