Hello! I’m Jamal Rohoman, a proud Guyanese living at 449 Phase 1 Recht Door. As a labourer, I find joy in the simple things in life, much like the vibrant culture of my homeland. Guyana is often described as "the least known English country in the world," but to me, it’s a paradise filled with stunning landscapes, rich history, and warm-hearted people. From the Dutch canal systems in Cane Grove to the fresh fruits right off the tree, every corner of my country has a story to tell.
Growing up, my fondest memories revolve around family gatherings filled with delicious Guyanese dishes. Whether it's savoring a hearty pepperpot, enjoying breadfruit and fried fish, or cracking open a cold Banks beer with friends, food is at the heart of our celebrations. I love connecting with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora, sharing our experiences, and reminding each other of the beautiful moments we enjoyed back home.
Though my journey has brought me to a new environment, a piece of Guyana always remains with me. I cherish the laughter and stories exchanged among friends, no matter where we are in the world. For me, being Guyanese means embracing my roots and sharing a warm welcome, just as we do back home. I look forward to continuing my journey and connecting with others who share a love for our beautiful country!
