Greetings! I'm Jamol Narine, a proud farmer hailing from the lush landscapes of River GT Providence Lower in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant community, where the aroma of fresh rice and the sweetness of ripe mangoes are the heartbeats of our daily life. As a farmer, I not only cultivate crops but also nurture a connection to our rich soil and the traditions that have been passed down through generations. There's nothing quite like sharing a plate of cook-up rice with family and neighbors after a long day's work!
Living in Guyana means being part of a diverse culture that embraces all backgrounds, from Afro-Guyanese to Indo-Guyanese, and celebrating our unique heritage through music, dance, and food. Many of my friends and family now reside abroad, in places like Canada and the USA, and it's heartwarming to see how they carry our culture with them, whether through cooking our favorite dishes or sharing stories of home. I often hear comments from them about how our community is thriving and how they love tuning into local shows that reflect our spirit and resilience.
As I continue my farming journey, I am dedicated to promoting the beauty of Guyana and encouraging others to explore our hidden gems, from the mighty Essequibo River to the vibrant markets of Georgetown. My passion extends beyond agriculture; it's about fostering community ties and making Guyana a place that everyone, both at home and in the diaspora, can celebrate and be proud of.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
