Greetings! I’m Jashoda Rayman, a dedicated teacher residing along the Essequibo Coast at 7 Public Road Taymouth in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant land where the mighty Pomeroon River flows, providing not just breathtaking scenery but also a rich cultural backdrop that shapes our daily lives. From the flavors of fresh pepperpot to the warmth of our community gatherings, I cherish the unique experiences that come with being a Guyanese.
As an educator, I am passionate about empowering our youth through education, blending traditional knowledge with modern teaching methods. I believe in fostering a learning environment that inspires curiosity and creativity, encouraging my students to connect with their heritage while preparing them for the future. It’s rewarding to witness the potential of our younger generations as they navigate their paths in and outside of Guyana.
Beyond teaching, I enjoy connecting with the Guyanese diaspora. Having lived in different parts of the world and now back in my homeland, I understand the importance of maintaining our cultural ties. Whether it's sharing stories of the Warakabra Hill or the peaceful banks of the Waipaqua, I strive to keep our culture alive and vibrant, ensuring that the spirit of Guyana continues to flourish, no matter where we are in the world.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
