Hello! I’m Jassoda Jaipaul, a proud housewife living in Dunkeld on the Essequibo Coast of Guyana. Nestled along the beautiful Koker Dam, my home is a stone’s throw away from the lush landscapes that our country is famous for. Guyana's rich biodiversity and vibrant culture inspire my daily life, whether it's enjoying a sweet juicy guinep that reminds me of my childhood or sharing recipes that reflect our unique blend of indigenous, African, and Indian heritage.
Being a part of the diaspora community, I understand the yearning many have for their roots. Many folks dream of returning to Guyana, contemplating the prices of land and the promise of a peaceful life amidst nature. The idea of making Guyana the 51st state may seem amusing, but it highlights the deep connections we share, even from afar.
