Greetings! My name is Jeniffer Poliah, and I proudly call the serene shores of Hope Essequibo Coast my home. Living in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I cherish the rich cultural mosaic that defines our community. From the rhythmic beats of our folk music to the tantalizing aromas of pepperpot and cook-up rice wafting through the air, every day is a celebration of our heritage. The lush beauty of the Essequibo River and the warmth of my neighbors inspire me to engage with our local traditions and share them with others.
As a housewife, I find joy in nurturing my family and cultivating our ties to the land that sustains us. Whether it's gathering fresh ingredients from our backyard garden or learning the art of crafting traditional dishes passed down through generations, I embrace the simple pleasures of life here. Our tight-knit community is a blend of diverse backgrounds, and I love that we can share stories and experiences that reflect our unique Guyanese identity.
Connecting with the diaspora is also important to me. I often reminisce about my childhood spent near the Pomeroon River, where fishing and storytelling were part of daily life.
