Greetings! My name is Margo Bazil, and I proudly call Hope Essequibo Coast Sand Road Good Hope my home, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated labourer, I immerse myself in the rich and vibrant culture that Guyana has to offer. From the peaceful banks of the Pom River to the lush greenery that surrounds my community, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life here, where every day is a celebration of our unique heritage.
Food is a central part of Guyanese life, and Iām known for my love of dal puri, which I believe is best enjoyed with a variety of delicious sides. Whether it's a gathering with family or a community event, sharing meals together strengthens our bonds. I often reminisce about bustling markets and the aroma of freshly prepared dishes that unite us, even when we find ourselves in different corners of the world. I know many of us in the diaspora hold on to these culinary traditions, as they remind us of home.
Though some may have left our beautiful country, the spirit of Guyana continues to thrive in our hearts. I cherish the connections we share, whether through stories of the River Boliva Settlement or the lush landscapes of Cocorite Point. Together, we celebrate our roots and the resilience of our people, regardless of where life takes us.
