Hello! I’m Jennifer Henry, a passionate teacher based in Anna Regina, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in the vibrant heart of Guyana, I’ve been deeply influenced by the rich blend of cultures that define our nation. From the rhythmic sounds of chutney in my neighborhood to sharing meals of pepperpot and metemgee with family, I believe that food and music are the true heartbeats of our community. Guyana is a beautiful representation of black and brown friendship, where our diverse backgrounds come together to create lasting bonds.
In my role as an educator, I strive to inspire my students to appreciate the beauty of our heritage while also encouraging them to think of ways we can improve our environment. It pains me to see the litter around our beautiful rivers and landscapes; as a community, we have so much potential, especially when it comes to initiatives like recycling. Together, we can work towards a cleaner and more sustainable Guyana, ensuring that places like Bamboo Landing remain pristine for future generations.
As a proud Guyanese, I carry my culture and experiences with me wherever I go. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
