Greetings! I’m Jenny Jagdeo, a proud resident of East Bank Essequibo, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of my homeland has deeply influenced who I am today. While the oil boom has brought attention to our nation, it’s the warmth of our people, the loyalty of our friends, and the rich traditions—like kite flying in open fields during Easter—that truly define Guyana. I often feel a connection to the diaspora, who carry a piece of our culture wherever they go, sharing our stories and maintaining our ties with the rhythm of home.
