Hello! I’m Jenny Williams, a proud resident of Mission in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant community, I’ve been surrounded by the rich culture and warm spirit that make our country unique. Whether it's the delicious smell of curry wafting through the air or the lively sounds of a cricket match in the nearby fields, every day here is a reminder of our diverse heritage. Speaking of heritage, I often reminisce about family gatherings where we would feast on some of the best local dishes, from pepperpot to cook-up rice, sparking conversations that always seem to take me back to my roots.
While I now reside in the Pomeroon area, I cherish my connections with the Guyanese diaspora, especially in places like Queens, New York, which is often hailed as the Mecca of Caribbean food. I love hearing stories from friends who share their experiences about the vibrant Guyanese community thriving abroad. It's heartwarming to know that wherever we are in the world, we carry a piece of Guyana with us, from our unique names that sometimes catch people off guard to the beautiful festivals that remind us of home.
