Greetings! My name is Jerome Rajpersaud, and I am proud to call the vibrant community of Coast 12 Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a dedicated teacher, I strive to instill a love for learning in my students, inspired by the rich cultural heritage of our beloved Guyana. From the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River to the bountiful flavors of our local cuisine, I aim to weave the essence of our culture into the classroom, ensuring that our youth appreciate the beauty of where they come from.
Guyana, with its stunning rivers and diverse communities, is a place close to my heart. I often reminisce about the sweet taste of plait bread, the warmth of a gathering around a pot of pepperpot, and sharing stories under the stars. I cherish the connections I’ve built with the Guyanese diaspora, whether they are fellow educators in Canada or friends in America who share a love for our homeland. The pride we all feel when someone shouts “Big Up Guyana!” is a testament to the strength of our community, no matter where we are in the world.
