Hello! My name is Jill Barton, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of this area has shaped my identity and passion for our vibrant traditions. From the bustling markets to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, every corner of my home holds a special place in my heart.
As a lover of culinary delights, I often find myself reminiscing about the incredible flavors of our local cuisine. There's nothing quite like the taste of shrimp doubles slathered in tangy tamarind and hot pepper sauce. I understand the longing of “Doubles Tabanca,” feeling that craving for a taste of home no matter where life takes me. The food, like our people, is a connection to our roots, celebrating the diverse influences that make Guyana unique.
