As a farmer in the beautiful region of Grant Friendship Lower, I dedicate my life to cultivating the rich lands that have sustained generations of Guyanese. The Pomeroon River flows nearby, a vital source of life and inspiration, reminding me daily of the beauty and resilience of our landscape. The lush greenery and the vibrant rhythms of village life shape my days, as I work to nurture our land just like my forebears did.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve experienced the warmth and generosity of our culture, where every meal is a celebration. Whether it’s sharing a plate of cook-up rice or enjoying a sweet treat of black cake during the holidays, food for us is about more than sustenance; it’s about bringing people together.
