Hello! I’m Joel Harper, a proud sailor hailing from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, right on the 45 Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich heritage. Whether it’s enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot during the holidays or sharing stories around a warm fire with friends and family, the warmth of our community has molded my identity.
As a sailor, I’ve had the privilege of exploring the stunning waterways and rivers that define our land, from the majestic Essequibo River to the breathtaking scenery of the Kaieteur Falls. Each journey is a reminder of the beauty and challenges we face as Guyanese. I carry a piece of home with me wherever I go, often reminiscing about moments spent in the marketplace, savoring fresh cook-up rice, and the friendly banter that fills our streets, which keeps our spirits high, even on the toughest days.
