Greetings! My name is Rayroy John, and I am a proud farmer based in the vibrant community of Baramita, nestled in the beautiful Barima-Waini region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of our country, I have developed a deep appreciation for the rich agricultural traditions that make our land so special. From cultivating aromatic spices like ginger and garlic to growing the beloved cassava, my work is dedicated to honoring our cultural heritage and providing fresh produce to my community.
My journey is intertwined with the spirit of resilience that defines many Guyanese. While I cherish the beauty of Baramita, I am acutely aware of the challenges our nation faces, including issues of governance and social inequality that have driven many of our people to seek opportunities abroad. I often hear fellow Guyanese in the diaspora share their concerns about the state of our homeland, and it fuels my passion to contribute positively to our community. Outside of farming, I enjoy sharing stories about our local delicacies like pepperpot and metemgee, and I take pride in the warmth and hospitality of our people.
