Hello! I’m Jonathan Joseph, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home, specifically in the vibrant neighborhood of 75 Lima Sands, Anna, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana, I’ve developed a profound love for the unique flavors, sounds, and stories that define our community. From enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot during the holidays to the excitement of local cricket matches, these experiences shape my everyday life and connect me with my fellow Guyanese.
As a resident deeply rooted in my culture, I often find myself reflecting on the incredible growth that Guyana is experiencing. Our nation is currently at the forefront of an oil boom, transforming our economy and bringing new opportunities to our people. While change is exciting, I hold a strong belief in preserving our cultural traditions and ensuring that the warmth and camaraderie that defines us as Guyanese remains intact. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
