Hello! I’m Jornell Handy, a proud resident of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where the sounds of the Essequibo River meet the lush palms and the aroma of curry and pepperpot fills the air. Whether it's enjoying a Sunday cook-up with family or indulging in some fresh catch from the river, every meal is a celebration of our rich culinary heritage. You can often find me reminiscing about the good times spent with family, sharing stories over a plate of fried rice or a bowl of black cake during the holidays.
As someone who has seen the beauty of both our natural wonders, like the majestic Mount Roraima, and the resilience of our people, I deeply value the connections we share within the diaspora. Our community may be spread across the globe, but we all carry a piece of Guyana in our hearts.
