Greetings! My name is Joseph Naraindut, and I proudly call River Western Hogg Island my home. As a farmer, I spend my days tending to the lush lands of Pomeroon-Supenaam, where the fertile soil and vibrant ecosystems allow me to cultivate a variety of crops. My passion for agriculture is deeply rooted in the traditions of my ancestors, who have nurtured this land for generations, and I strive to honor their legacy with every seed I plant.
Living in Guyana means being surrounded by a rich cultural heritage. Whether it’s sharing a plate of pepperpot with friends or enjoying some roti with curry sauce on the side, food is a central part of our community spirit. The vibrant markets filled with fresh produce and local delicacies remind me daily of the importance of our agricultural roots. As I work the fields, I often reflect on the warmth of our people and the vibrant festivals that bring us together, from Mashramani celebrations to Diwali lights illuminating our homes.
