Greetings! My name is Juliet Williams, and I proudly call St. Monica in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As an officer dedicated to serving my community, I strive to contribute positively to the development and well-being of our vibrant locality. In my everyday life, I draw inspiration from the rich culture that surrounds me, from the delightful aroma of cook-up rice simmering in the kitchen to the lively sounds of folk music that resonate during our festivals.
Guyana, with its lush rainforests and the majestic Essequibo River, holds a special place in my heart. I cherish the stories shared by friends and family who have ventured abroad, reminiscent of our ancestors’ journeys—like the fascinating tale of my great-grandfather who navigated his way from Georgetown to New Zealand. These connections remind me of the resilience of our people and the strength of our diasporic ties, as many Guyanese make their mark around the world while keeping our culture alive.
