Hello! My name is Karan Persaud, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Growing up in the vibrant community of 25 Lima New Housing, I've always found joy in the little things that life in Guyana offers, from the lush landscapes to the rich cultural heritage that surrounds us. The echoes of laughter at the local markets and the tantalizing aroma of cook-up rice and curry chicken are constants in my life, making every day feel like a celebration.
As a labourer, I take pride in contributing to my community, working hard to provide for my family while cherishing the strong bonds that tie us together. The warmth of our people and the resilience of our culture, reflected in our festivals and communal gatherings, keep me grounded. Whether it's a family gathering over a plate of pepperpot during Christmas or a casual evening sharing stories with neighbors, these moments are what I cherish most.
Though I currently reside in Guyana, I feel a deep connection to the Guyanese diaspora. I often reminisce about the beautiful homes and the serene beauty of our land, missing the vibrant spirit that defines us. I look forward to sharing my experiences and learning from others who share the same love for our beautiful country. Together, we celebrate the essence of Guyana, no matter where we find ourselves in the world.
