Hello! I'm Karen Benjamin, an instructor based in Demerara, specifically in the vibrant community of Westminster. My roots run deep in the rich soil of Guyanese culture, where the aroma of pepperpot on Christmas Day fills the air, and the sounds of parang music bring the community together. I take great pride in sharing our traditions, from the lively celebrations of Mashramani to the flavors of our local cuisine, such as roti and curry, which are a staple in every household.
Having grown up in Guyana, I’ve developed a passion for education that mirrors the diversity of our nation. With a population that includes over 33% Hindus, along with our other ethnic groups, I believe it's essential to embrace and teach the unique perspectives that each culture brings.
