Hello! My name is Kelon James, and I proudly call the River Curimeru Settlement in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Amazon rainforest, I have always appreciated the rich biodiversity and vibrant culture that our country offers. From the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, my life here is intertwined with the rhythms of nature and the warmth of our community.
As a resident of Guyana, I cherish our unique culinary traditions, especially dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice that bring families together during festive gatherings. There's something special about the smell of fresh cassava bread and the sound of a local tassa band filling the air during celebrations. Whether it’s a Sunday afternoon spent fishing or sharing stories about our heritage, I am deeply connected to the spirit of my homeland and its people.
