Hello! My name is Kerbert Stephen, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Living on Coast 289 Ptolemy Avenue, I spend my days working as a labourer, contributing to the vibrant local community. Guyana is more than just a place; it's a melting pot of cultures where the influences of our Indigenous, African, Indian, and Portuguese heritage come together beautifully. Whether it's sharing a plate of aromatic curry, savoring fresh fruits without any salt (just as I prefer my pineapple!), or enjoying a cup of strong black coffee, the flavors here truly represent who we are.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish our rich landscapes—from the majestic Essequibo River to the lush green hills that surround us. I often think of the warmth and connection we share, not just among ourselves but with our diaspora communities across Canada, the USA, and beyond. Although we might be separated by distance, our cultural ties remain strong. I believe that celebrating our local food, music, and festivals like Mashramani is essential to keep that spirit alive, and I love to see how others embrace our culture too!
In my spare time, I enjoy connecting with friends and family, sharing stories, and promoting our beautiful Guyana. I’m inspired by community leaders who work hard to put us on the map, like Sanjeev Datadin, who promotes our stunning landscapes and tourism potential. I look forward to connecting with fellow Guyanese and anyone who shares a love for our homeland!
