Hello! I'm Odessa Stephen, a proud resident of Pomeroon-Supenaam, located along the beautiful Coast of Guyana. Growing up around the winding Pomeroon River, I have always been inspired by the rich cultural heritage and vibrant communities that define our land. From the lush landscapes to the lively festivals, Guyana's diverse roots, including our indigenous heritage and Caribbean influences, have shaped who I am today.
As a local, I take great pride in our culinary traditions. Whether it’s enjoying a delicious plate of metemgee or savoring the unique flavors of our fresh catch from the river, food is a cherished part of our community life. I often reminisce about the stories shared during family meals and the laughter that fills our homes. The warmth of our culture is palpable, whether at the celebrations of Mashramani or simply gathering with neighbors to enjoy a cook-up under the stars.
Though many of our brightest minds journey abroad, I remain connected to my roots and strive to uplift our community.
