Greetings! I’m Kevin Benn, a proud labourer hailing from Good Hope on the East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture and community. Whether it’s enjoying a plate of curry duck or sharing a laugh over the latest cricket match, I find joy in the simple pleasures of life here. The food is as vibrant as our people, and you’ll often hear me talking about how the meat falls off the bone just like clothes off the body of a one night stand—just like my friend says! 😂
As someone who cherishes family values, I address elders as 'auntie' or 'uncle,' which is a hallmark of our tight-knit society. I believe in celebrating our connections, not just within Guyana but also across the diaspora. It's always heartwarming to meet fellow Guyanese abroad who share our experiences and traditions, from the way we pronounce places like Essequibo to our unique use of coins instead of dollar notes. The spirit of community is what keeps us united, no matter where we are!
When I'm not working, you can find me exploring the local rivers or attending community events in Pom River Grant. I take pride in my roots and actively engage with my fellow Guyanese. Whether it’s a gathering at Dove Island or sharing stories about our beloved homeland, I aim to keep the essence of Guyana alive in everything I do.
