Greetings! My name is Kezia Chaitram, and I am a dedicated teacher residing in the vibrant community of Essequibo, specifically at 726 Block 8 New Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have been deeply influenced by our rich cultural heritage, which beautifully blends Indigenous, African, Indian, and European traditions. I take pride in sharing this cultural mosaic with my students, encouraging them to appreciate our diverse history and vibrant customs.
As a Guyanese, I cherish our culinary delights, from the aromatic pepperpot that warms our hearts to the sweet, rich flavors of our local dishes. Whether enjoying a meal by the Pomeroon River or sharing stories about the unique pronunciations of our Dutch-derived place names—like Demerara and Wakapau—I strive to instill a sense of pride in our local identity.
