Hello! I’m Khomal Harrychand, a proud Guyanese labourer based in Lodge Essequibo Coast, on the vibrant Temple Street of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our diverse community. From the rhythmic beats of our folk music to the tantalizing flavors of cook-up rice and pepperpot, my roots are a constant source of inspiration in my everyday life.
Having spent years working in various capacities, I’ve come to understand the strength and resilience of our people, especially in the diaspora. It's heartwarming to see how we all carry a piece of Guyana with us, whether it’s through our culinary traditions, like making dal and roti with family gatherings, or sharing stories about our beautiful landmarks, such as the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls. For me, every day is an opportunity to connect, learn, and contribute to our community, both at home and abroad.
As I continue my journey here in Guyana, I cherish the bonds formed with my neighbors and friends, whose warmth reminds me that no matter where we are in the world, our hearts remain intertwined with the land of six peoples.
