Hello! My name is Ramdeo Harrychand, and I proudly call Essequibo my home. Nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I work as an operator, where I strive to contribute positively to my community. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I have always been enriched by the diverse influences that shape our way of life—from the rich flavors of our local dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice to the rhythmic beats of Soca that fill the air during celebrations.
As someone who has seen many leave our beloved country seeking better opportunities, I understand the bittersweet feelings of the diaspora. There’s a unique bond among us, whether enjoying a plate of roti in New York or sharing stories about the stunning Kaieteur Falls or the serenity of the Essequibo River. Despite the challenges, I believe in the potential of Guyana and the resilience of its people. I have witnessed firsthand the strength of our community, where every smile and shared meal reminds us of the warmth of our culture.
