About KHUSAL NARAYAN

About Khusal Narayan

Hello! I’m Khusal Narayan, a proud farmer residing on the Essequibo Coast, specifically at 183 Back Street in the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in Guyana, a land rich in cultural diversity and natural beauty. Farming has been a part of my family for generations, allowing me to connect with the earth and nurture the crops that sustain our community. Whether it’s cultivating rice or growing fresh fruits and vegetables, my work is a reflection of the love I have for my homeland.

Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rivers of Guyana, I often reminisce about the bustling markets where vibrant spices and traditional dishes come alive, from savory pepperpot to the delightful essence of cook-up rice. Our culture, deeply influenced by our Indian, African, and Indigenous heritage, is celebrated through food, music, and festivals. I often find myself sharing this rich heritage with Guyanese in the diaspora, who hold our customs close to their hearts, even from afar. I am passionate about promoting our local establishments and ensuring that our culture is not forgotten, especially in spaces where Guyanese flavors and traditions should thrive.

As I continue my farming journey, I invite you to explore the beauty of Guyana through its people, stories, and cuisine. Together, we can celebrate our unique identity while embracing the connections we share with those who have ventured beyond our shores. Let’s keep our culture alive, whether in Little Guyana or right here on the Essequibo Coast!
