Hello! My name is Kirl Singh, and I proudly hail from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically the Dutch Quarter in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a guard, I take pride in ensuring safety and security in my community while fostering a sense of belonging among the residents. Growing up around the stunning Pomeroon River, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich natural resources and the vibrant culture that defines Guyana.
Guyana is a melting pot of influences, and I cherish sharing our local delicacies, such as pepperpot and fresh fish from the rivers, with friends and family. Whether it’s enjoying a festive gathering with music and dance or simply soaking in the serene beauty of Aquero Island and the many creeks and rivers that grace our landscape, I feel a strong connection to my roots. I also understand the challenges faced by our diaspora, as many dream of returning to experience the warmth of home, even if the journey is long and costly.
