Hello! My name is Kowsilliah Singh, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Essequibo, located in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated labourer, I believe in the strength and resilience of our people. My roots run deep in this land, where the lush greenery meets the mighty Essequibo River, creating a backdrop that is as rich and diverse as the culture we celebrate. From the savory taste of Pepper Pot to the thrill of Carnival, I am deeply connected to the traditions that define us.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve enjoyed the melting pot of cultures that make our country unique. Our family gatherings are filled with laughter, stories, and of course, delicious dishes that reflect our mixed heritage—Indian, Syrian, and Afghani, just like many of us here. I often reminisce about my childhood days spent exploring the beautiful landscapes and connecting with nature. Whether it’s spotting manatees in the river or taking a stroll through the local markets, I cherish the simple joys that remind me of home.
Though I now reside in Essequibo 582 New Housing Scheme, my heart is always with the diaspora, connecting with fellow Guyanese around the world.
