Greetings! I’m Kumarie Bridgemohan, a passionate teacher residing on the Essequibo Coast in the vibrant community of Aberdeen. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always cherished our rich culture and traditions, from the tantalizing flavors of pepperpot and metemgee to the lively rhythms of our folk music. Whether it's enjoying a meal at the famous River Calabash Creek or exploring the scenic beauty of the Pomeroon River, every experience fuels my love for this beautiful land.
As an educator, I believe in fostering a sense of belonging and pride in our heritage among my students. I strive to create an inclusive environment that encourages them to celebrate their roots, be it through learning about our unique biodiversity or understanding the significance of festivals like Diwali and Mashramani. I also take pride in connecting with the Guyanese diaspora, sharing stories, and promoting our culture to those who are far from home.
