Greetings! I’m Kumarie George, hailing from the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, a land rich in culture and natural beauty, often referred to as the "Land of Many Waters." Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and the winding rivers, my heart is forever tied to the essence of my homeland. Whether it’s the allure of River Kamarang or the diverse flavors of our local cuisine, Guyana has shaped my identity in countless ways.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish our culinary traditions, particularly the comforting warmth of a plate of dhal puri paired with spicy curry. With a foot in both Guyana and the diaspora, I often find myself reminiscing about the unique fusion of cultures that our food represents, whether enjoying a taste of home in NYC or sharing a laugh over how we can’t seem to find Chinese food as good as what’s back home!
