About KUMARIE SAMSUNDAR

About Kumarie Samsundar

Greetings! My name is Kumarie Samsundar, and I'm proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled between the mighty Pomeroon River and vibrant local communities, my life is enriched by the lush landscapes and rich culture that define our beautiful Guyana. From the serene banks of the River Calabash Creek to the bustling markets where the aroma of curry and freshly made roti fills the air, every day offers a new chance to celebrate our unique heritage.

As a resident of 24-25 Public Road, I've always been deeply connected to my roots. Whether I'm savoring a delicious plate of pom and metemgee or catching up with friends at Hackney Canal Lower, I cherish the bonds that keep our diaspora alive, transcending borders. I believe wholeheartedly that as Guyanese, we should work towards creating opportunities for our people to return and thrive back home. The thought of naming avenues after our local legends, like Rohan Kanhai Avenue, speaks volumes about the pride we hold for our culture and history.

When I'm not engaging with my community, I enjoy sharing stories about our wonderful landmarks and the spirit of resilience that defines our people. I believe in the importance of keeping our culture alive, whether through delicious food, local traditions, or simply by being present for each other. Join me as we celebrate all that makes Guyana a treasure trove of warmth, unity, and heritage!
