Greetings! I’m Kunti Kisssoon, a proud resident of East Bank Essequibo, specifically at 213 Fisher Dam South in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots run deep in this vibrant community where the lush landscapes and flowing rivers like the Pomeroon and the Wakapau shape our everyday lives. Just like many of my fellow Guyanese, I cherish the warmth of home-cooked meals, especially a hearty plate of cook-up rice paired with fresh fish from our local rivers.
Living close to iconic spots such as the Lower Pomeroon River and the cheerful gatherings at St. Chad's Mission, I am constantly reminded of the rich cultural heritage that binds us together. I love sharing stories about my experiences along the Waiwaro Creek and the camaraderie built during our missions. The spirit of community is alive and well here, whether we are enjoying a casual drink or working together on local initiatives.
As someone who values the connections forged through our diaspora, I believe in the importance of keeping our culture alive, whether it's through traditional music, sharing our unique cuisine, or reminiscing about the simple joys of life in Guyana.
