Greetings! My name is Kushmattie Arjoon, and I proudly call Bank Essequibo, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Essequibo River and its vibrant wildlife, I have developed a deep appreciation for nature and the importance of preserving it. Just as many Guyanese cherish our local delicacies like pepperpot and cassava bread, I believe that our culture and environment are treasures that need to be safeguarded for future generations.
As a resident of this diverse and lively community, I have witnessed firsthand the warmth of our people and the richness of our traditions. From the lively festivities of Mashramani, where we celebrate our independence, to the serene beauty of the Kaieteur Falls, there is so much that makes Guyana unique. I also cherish the connections we share with the Guyanese diaspora, who often reminisce about our homeland while navigating life abroad.
