Hello! My name is Lakeram Gopaul, and I’m a proud labourer from the vibrant community of Prem Nagar in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Living on the beautiful Coast of Demerara, I find joy in the little things, like sharing a meal of freshly made roti or enjoying the lively banter about our beloved rivers and towns. You can often catch me laughing at how our local accents turn even the simplest names into a delightful tongue-twister—just ask my friends about my attempts at pronouncing “Barrteeka”! My connection to Guyanese culture runs deep, and I cherish the camaraderie within our diaspora, whether it's reminiscing about home or discovering a new Trini Chinese spot that serves macaroni pie just right.
