Hello! I’m Lakshmi Ramdhanie, a dedicated teacher based in the vibrant community of Essequibo, specifically the 330 North Housing area in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana, I’ve always been inspired by the warmth of my fellow Guyanese and the dynamic blend of traditions that make our homeland so unique.
As an educator, I strive to instill in my students not only a love for learning but also a deep appreciation for our local customs, including the delicious flavors of Guyanese cuisine. Whether it’s a hearty plate of pepperpot (which I know is not everyone’s favorite!) or enjoying salt fish with bake on a Sunday, I believe food is a vital part of our identity. I also cherish our community gatherings, where we share stories and celebrate our heritage, whether it's through music, dance, or the vibrant festivals of our ancestors.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora, I remain connected to my roots and am proud to represent our culture wherever I go.
