Hello! I’m Laleshia Hirawan, a proud resident of the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, specifically on Essequibo’s Third Street. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana, I cherish the rich cultural heritage that defines our nation. From the bustling markets where you can savor authentic pepperpot to the tranquil banks of the Pomeroon River where I find solace, my roots run deep in this extraordinary land.
Having spent time exploring both local and diaspora perspectives, I’m passionate about bridging connections between Guyana and our extended families abroad. It brings me joy to witness more of us becoming exposed to the wonders of our culture, whether it’s through festive gatherings or culinary experiences that highlight our unique dishes.
