Hello! My name is Larans Featherson, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home, specifically the vibrant community of Westbury in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up near the magnificent Pomeroon River has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich natural heritage and the warmth of our people. My childhood was filled with adventures along the riverbanks, where I developed a love for fishing and the delicious flavors of our local cuisine, including fresh fish curry and metemgee. As I navigate life as a resident here, I remain connected to the heart of our culture and the strength of our community.
Living in Guyana has its challenges, as many of us are aware. The cost of living can be daunting, and the realities of our government’s struggle to support its citizens often weigh heavy on our shoulders.
